A classical art education is the most important foundation an artist can have — whether you’re a traditional painter, animator, or abstract artist. Learning the fundamentals of composition, value, material, color theory and form gives you the tools to create compelling work in whatever style ultimately calls to you.

My teaching approach is engaging, structured, and, deeply personalized. Sharing my passion for painting and decades of accumulated, tangible skills, I combine formal, technical instruction with applied learning. We will work directly on paintings, tailoring each lesson to the individual artist’s goals, interests, and skill level.

Anyone can be an artist — truly. Whether you’re just beginning or refining your practice, with interest and dedication, the foundations can be learned.

Private lessons are available for both children and adults, beginning at age eight.

Private lessons are $140 per hour.
